About Contempo Jewelers Story History

Contempo Jewelers was founded in August of 1992 by Nicholas Labate. Nicholas was 24 years young at that time and he’d already had 7 years of retail jewelry experience. The only time spent away from the jewelry business was a four year period when he received his Bachelors of Business in Accounting from Hofstra University. This business degree would prove invaluable during his career as a jeweler and entrepreneur.
Feeling that there was a need for an upscale jeweler in his hometown, Nicholas opened Contempo Jewelers in a newly built shopping center: Cherry Valley in West Hempstead, NY.

Contempo has succeeded by keeping its product lines focused, its marketing strategy simple and its customer service impeccable! Custom orders and special orders are always welcome. If we don’t have it, we’ll get it. If we can’t get it, we’ll make it. For instance, we specialize in making all types of wedding bands. We can make the perfect wedding band to fit your engagement ring. All your bridal needs can be fulfilled under one roof!

We carry a complete line of 14k, 18k, and Platinum jewelry. Diamond jewelry including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are our specialty. Although we are authorized dealers of Seiko, Citizen, Movado, Accutron, Wittnauer, and Anne Klein watches, we can also special order just about any other name brand watch.
